San Juan Chapter 127 CLASSIFIED LAYOFFS UPDATE #2 March 3, 2009
No movement to stop classified layoffs on the District’s side. CSEA is committed to save ALL classified positions if possible. THE FIGURES DON”T LIE. The figures the District provided show that the District is in above average financial shape (even based on the Governor’s “Worst Case” scenario). Mike Dencavage and JoAnn Allee have not been available to meet with CSEA to answer questions regarding the District’s figures. CSEA did ask for the District Negotiation’s Team to take back to them some pertinent questions we need answered in order for CSEA to make a well thought out decisions.
DON”T BE DISCOURAGED! Even if you received a layoff notice, it’s not a done deal. Come to the School Board meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 6:30 pm at the San Juan District Office 3738 Walnut Avenue in Carmichael, CA. Let the School Board know that you are not just a number. You are a caring employee.
