Dear members of CSEA San Juan Chapter 127,
Happy New Year, and welcome to 2010! I don't know about you, but I am having a hard time believing that 2010 is actually here. It seems like not so long ago I was just a young lad dreaming about space travel in the year 2010, on far away missions battling space aliens! And now here we are...
"In a school district in a galaxy not so far away..."
Well, we may not be on a mission through the stars, but we are on a mission --- a mission of equality and equity for all classified employees within the San Juan School District. Equity of pay, equity of benefits, and equity in respect; and the recognition we deserve - and now demand.
This mission will not be an easy one. There will be many "battles" before the "war" is over. Sacrifices will have to be made so that casualties are few. "Crew" members will have to get involved to a much greater extent than ever before. No longer can you afford to not participate! The "starship" CSEA-127 is now recruiting new "soldiers" for our cause. We - meaning you and not just I - must take an active role in our future now. You hold the key... I will stand up for you and take the lead, but you must get my back if we are to succeed.
Our mission will not be easy, but it is just.
