PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Power Respect & Partnership
Since the beginning of the new school year, you have been dedicated to making this school year run smoothly. Over all, things are running as smoothly as can be expected with a brand new computer system in place.
Now is the time for us to be concerned with US. The District has been negotiating with us but has not even brought a monetary proposal to the table for our consideration. The District has said they will present us with a proposal on November 13, 2009. They’re a little slow to present wouldn’t you say.
Please join us, your Negotiating Teams, by wearing CSEA Blue on November 12th to let the District know that we are standing together, side by side, for a fair proposal. Last year individuals in the District called the District Office to report on how many classified at each site were wearing “blue” in support of fellow classified. Let’s have an even larger number this year for them to report. (Believe me, they do keep track of what you do out there.)
Standing together let’s them know we expect our FAIR SHARE of the National Stimulus Monies that were awarded to them. The monies were to be used to retain positions and for training. We need not only money for salaries and benefits but for trainings as well.
Many have received no training since they first took their positions. There are many changes in the way things are done now. If you have any ideas of “trainings” you would like for your position, please let me know so we can present the ideas to the District Negotiating Team. We need to hear from you what training is important and what training is not necessary. You can email me at
